MUSINSA has concluded anexport contract to introduce its beauty brand, Oddtype, to the Japanese market.This deal highlights the recognition of Oddtype's chic product line andpotential for growth in Japan. Beginning October 12, Oddtype’s signatureproducts will be available at more than 200 outlets of Japan’s largest lifestyleretailers, LOFT and PLAZA.
LOFT and PLAZA are majorlifestyle chains in Japan, featuring a variety of popular beauty brands rangingfrom local to international cosmetics brands, and are regarded as top shoppingdestinations for young consumers.
Earlier in April, MUSINSAhosted an Oddtype pop-up event at the @cosme flagship store in Tokyo,attracting considerable attention from local buyers and confirming the brand’spotential success in the Japanese market. Oddtype's unique brand identity,combined with its high-quality products, has made a strong impression ondomestic and international beauty enthusiasts, positioning it as an emerging leaderin K-beauty.
Oddtype’s top-sellingproducts, “Unseen Mirror Tint” and “Unseen Balloon Tint,” which have gainedsignificant popularity in Korea, are set to debut in Japan at LOFT and PLAZAstores. “Unseen Balloon Tint” particularly stood out during the MUSINSA BeautyFesta held both online and offline since August, achieving impressive sales of KRW200 million in just 21 days.
Launched in 2023, Oddtypeis MUSINSA’s own beauty brand. With its iconic designs and trendy colorproducts, it has quickly caught the attention of beauty enthusiasts in their 10sand 20s, leading to rapid growth. On MUSINSA Beauty, Oddtype recorded more thana tenfold increase in cumulative transaction value in 3Q, 2024 year on year.Through Oddtype, MUSINSA plans to strengthen partnerships with major Japaneseretailers and roll out a broader product range, introducing the latest K-beautytrends.
