MUSINSA Signs Strategic MOU with Japan’s ZOZO to Accelerate Global Expansion of Korean Fashion Brands

December 16, 2024

MUSINSA has become the first Korean fashion company to sign an MOU for a strategic partnership with ZOZO, the operator of Japan’s leading online fashion platform ZOZOTOWN, aiming to accelerate the expansion of Korean designer brands into the Japanese market.

Jo Man-ho, Chief Executive Officer of MUSINSA, and Park Joon-mo, CEO of MUSINSA, signed the MOU at ZOZO’s headquarters in Japan, together with Kotaro Sawada, President and CEO of ZOZO, and other key representatives from both companies.

Starting with this MOU, MUSINSA and ZOZO plan to carry out joint initiatives aimed at helping Korean fashion brands expand into the Japanese market and grow their sales. ZOZO will provide a range of support in areas such as distribution and marketing to ensure that Korean designer brands entering Japan can operate successfully. MUSINSA will serve as a strategic partner for Korean designer brands lacking the personnel and resources needed to enter the Japanese market, acting as a bridge between Korea and Japan.

Earlier this year, MUSINSA collaborated with ZOZOTOWN to launch an online pop-up store, confirming the potential synergy between the two companies. Through the pop-up, MUSINSA introduced a variety of Korean fashion brands to Japanese consumers and drew strong interest by releasing limited-edition items in collaboration with Japanese influencers.

Cho Man-ho, Chief Executive Officer of MUSINSA, stated, “Over the past two to three years, MUSINSA has built a stable business foundation through various trials and efforts to enter the Japanese fashion market. With this MOU, we look forward to working closely with ZOZO, Japan’s largest fashion e-commerce company, to help Korean fashion brands expand their sales and presence in the Japanese market.”
