MUSINSA Launches Co-Naming Program at Line 2’s Seongsu Station: “This Stop Is Seongsu, MUSINSA”

December 9, 2025

MUSINSA will begin a station co-naming initiative at Seongsu Station on Seoul Subway Line 2 starting this December, further strengthening its presence in Seongsu—one of Korea’s most trend-driven fashion districts.

Beginning December 10, MUSINSA will be introduced alongside Seongsu Station as part of Seoul Metro’s paid station co-naming program, which aims to enhance brand recognition for companies and institutions located near subway stations while improving convenience for passengers.

With the launch of the program, the name MUSINSA will be displayed across a wide range of station touchpoints, including station name signage inside and outside the station, directional signs in concourse areas, platform station signs, platform screen door signage, subway route maps, and onboard announcements. In particular, passengers traveling on Line 2 trains bound for Seongsu Station will hear announcements in both Korean and English stating, “This stop is Seongsu, MUSINSA.” MUSINSA conducted system checks and test broadcasts following a maintenance period that began in October.

MUSINSA was selected as the final bidder after participating in a public electronic auction announced by Seoul Metro in September 2025, securing the contract with a bid of KRW 3.29 billion. The agreement spans three years, with an option to extend once for an additional three-year term.

The station co-naming reflects recognition of MUSINSA’s role in shaping Seongsu into one of Korea’s leading trend and fashion hubs. Since relocating its headquarters to Seongsu in September 2022, MUSINSA has actively built an ecosystem focused on sustainable growth alongside the local community.

The company has expanded social contribution initiatives for residents of Seongdong District and increased employment opportunities, contributing to local economic growth. MUSINSA’s workforce grew from approximately 500 employees in 2021 to more than 1,800 today—over a threefold increase. During the same period, consolidated revenue rose from approximately KRW 460 billion at the end of 2021 to KRW 1.24 trillion by the end of 2024, marking nearly 170% growth in just three years.

Following the headquarters relocation, MUSINSA has introduced a series of offline retail spaces—including MUSINSA STANDARD Seongsu, MUSINSA STORE Seongsu, and MUSINSA EMPTY Seongsu—accelerating the transformation of Seongsu into a fashion-centric commercial district. The company has also expanded its lifestyle footprint through spaces such as Sodam Store with MUSINSA, an offline platform supporting small businesses, as well as 29CM-operated locations including IGU HOME Seongsu and IGU KIDS Seongsu, establishing a diversified presence across fashion, beauty, and lifestyle categories.

A MUSINSA official commented, “Since relocating our headquarters to Seongsu, we have continued to expand employment and investment, and the concentration of K-fashion brands has helped energize the local economy,” adding, “Looking ahead, we will continue to work with the local community and emerging brands to grow Seongsu—and the Seoul Forest area—into a representative fashion district of Korea.”
