MUSINSA Opens Applications for 6th ‘Next Fashion Scholarship’ — Cultivating Industry-Ready Fashion Directors

August 1, 2025

MUSINSA is now accepting public applications for the 6th cohort of the ‘MUSINSA Next Fashion Scholarship(MNFS)’, a program designed to identify and nurture emerging talent in fashion brand entrepreneurship. Applications open on August 4.

Launched in 2022, MNFS is an incubator program that offers practical training and scholarships to cultivate the next generation of fashion directors. To date, the program has supported 90 scholarship recipients in launching their own fashion brands.

This year’s cohort will select 20 participants. For the first time, eligibility has been expanded beyond domestic and international fashion majors to include non-majors with prior brand launch experience, opening doors to a wider range of aspiring founders.

Running from September 2025 to May 2026, the nine-month program will offer monthly hands-on training covering every stage of brand management—from concept planning and product development to distribution and marketing. The curriculum will feature workshops on brand roadmap design, factory tours, distribution strategy, content planning, and one-on-one mentoring. From this year, MUSINSA is partnering with the Korea Social Investment Foundation to further enhance curriculum development and program operations.

Each selected participant will receive a scholarship of USD 3,600 per brand to fund prototype production, as well as complimentary access to MUSINSA Studio, a shared office space specialized for fashion businesses.

In January 2026, three outstanding teams will be chosen as finalists through a review process. These finalists will be supported in producing seasonal lookbooks and hosting offline pop-up exhibitions to experience the full brand launch process. Additionally, starting with this cohort, outstanding participants will be given opportunities to list their brands on key Team MUSINSA platforms, including MUSINSA and 29CM—providing tangible benefits to accelerate early-stage growth.

Online applications will be accepted from August 4 to August 18. Following document and interview screening, the final selection will be announced on September 5. Details about the program and the online recruitment briefing can be found on the MUSINSA Newsroom.

A MUSINSA official commented, “MNFS serves as a gateway for designer brands, fostering talent that not only excels in design but also understands branding, marketing, and distribution. We look forward to seeing promising fashion entrepreneurs quickly establish themselves in the market, contributing to the diversity, competitiveness, and healthy growth of Korea’s fashion ecosystem."

Notable alumni brands launched through MNFS, including YOOGANG, FORUSRING, and HIETA, have since joined the MUSINSA platform and garnered strong attention from customers.
