March 3, 2025

MUSINSA is opening a fashion-specialized co-working space, MUSINSA Studio, in Dongdaemun, Seoul, a central hub of the fashion industry. The 4,600㎡ will be equipped with tailored facilities such as offices, sewing rooms, workrooms, and pattern-making studios, aiming to support professionals in the industry and contribute to the revitalization of the fashion ecosystem.

MUSINSA will open its sixth branch of the fashion-specialized co-working space, MUSINSA Studio, on the 4th floors of Buildings A and C at Dongdaemun General Market in Seoul on June 10. The new space spans a total of 4,628㎡and marks the first new location in two years since the opening of the fifth branch in Sindang-dong in April 2023.

First launched in 2018, MUSINSA Studio is Korea’s first fashion-specialized co-working space, introduced by MUSINSA to support the growth of the domestic independent designer brand ecosystem. In addition to standard office spaces, the studio offers practical infrastructure tailored to the needs of fashion industry professionals — including sewing rooms, workrooms, pattern-making studios, and packing zones — providing hands-on support essential to their operations.

The Dongdaemun General Market branch features a total of 200 office units, ranging from private offices for a single person to spaces that accommodate up to 25 people. It is also equipped with additional facilities such as meeting rooms, a mailroom, and phone booths. The sewing room, outfitted with sewing machines, overlock machines, and irons, enables immediate sample production and garment modifications. The workroom, designed for tasks such as product inspection and pattern adjustments, includes 17 large worktables to support a range of production activities for tenant brands.

In particular, MUSINSA has built an infrastructure within the General Market that is well-suited for small and emerging brands looking to launch new product lines or scale their operations, by collaborating with over 1,500 fabric and accessory suppliers located in the market. By streamlining the production-to-distribution process—from sample creation to sales—the studio helps reduce time and cost, ultimately enhancing the competitiveness of tenant brands. Through these efforts, MUSINSA also aims to generate a positive ripple effect within Dongdaemun General Market by increasing business opportunities for local material suppliers.

Since opening its first MUSINSA Studio in Dongdaemun in 2018, MUSINSA has steadily expanded its presence with the following locations: △Hannam Studio 10(February 2022)
△Seongsu(May 2022) △Hannam Studio 2(January 2023) △Sindang(April 2023). A total of five MUSINSA Studios are currently in operation, with more than 270 tenant companies occupying the spaces.

A MUSINSA official stated, “Dongdaemun is a major fashion hub where manufacturing and distribution happen in real time. It serves as a key base not only for Korean designer brands but also for international companies and buyers.” They added, “Leveraging MUSINSA’s experience and expertise, we aim to support small fashion brands in operating their businesses more efficiently.”
